I decided to come off of birth control pills back in December I believe. I find it very difficult to take them. Plus, they have given me bad side effects. My periods have been super irregular like coming every 30 days, every 27 days, every 26 days, and so on. I used to be on an every 28 day cycle which I loved. It makes me hate the fact I went back on the pill. I'm at the point in my life where I would like to experience pregnancy and start my own family with my significant other. I am turning 24 in the next two weeks and I definitely do not want to wait too long or else my fertility chances decrease. I would like to find a fertility specialist and OBGYN and get checked out. I want to see how fertile I am. Until then, I'm going to keep trying.
I would go ahead and find a good reproductive endocrinologist in your area when you feel ready. Often they say don't bother coming in until you have tried for at least a year, sometimes more if you are younger than 30. For me, I knew something was wrong, and persevered until I found a doctor who would listen. go with your instinct on this. for me, getting checked out by a doctor is never a bad call.
