I feel like I don't know my purpose in life
Perhaps your purpose right now is to figure out what your next purpose should be.
That's ok. I dont know mine either.
Thanks everyone
Thank you Mr.z
@11sososweet I am certain, you are young. So much of us - SG friends don’t know our purpose. It’s difficult to know your purpose, when you are going through so much pain, and despair everyday. It’s hard to focused on anything but your suffering… That’s why we’re are on this site. I am a survivor of a traumatic brain injury, who is in recovery for the past 2 years… I’ve been through Hell, and Back. I spent 4 months in the hospital. My purpose before my injury was to be a good mother, and wife. Somehow I had forgotten myself in the big picture. But after my illness, I became first, my husband and then kids… So much has changed I have teenaged kids, and most times they are so selfish, it’s all about their needs. So I have become selfish too, for if mommy is not well. … Nobody isn’t!— Mother makes the home. Be strong, the best us yet, to followed… SG friends are here, to support, and be supported. Have Faith. You will discovered your purpose, gave it time.
Thank you Irma very inspirational testimony I try to keep the faith it's so hard sometimes
Figuring out one's purpose in life seems to be a daunting task sometimes. I started by asking myself this question: What is it that I want to do to HELP OTHERS? I has to start with an action verb. That came at a time when I was so busy helping others that I wasn't doing much for myself, with which I still struggle. But this is what I came up with six years ago-- "My purpose in life is to INSPIRE others..." Don't question or minimize it, once you get it down. Then ask yourself, "to do what?" Once you get that down, ask then, "How?" and you will start to think of possibilities (endless) which you will start to narrow down to what you want to do with your purpose in mind.
My purpose in life is to inspire others to continue to move forward through their struggles and see what lies beyond.
Sometimes it may take time to finally figure out your purpose in life; because of the fact it takes time people often lose hope and start to believe that they are worth nothing and do not have a purpose. My counter for that would be; you would not be here, today, if you did not have a purpose in this world. Sometimes it's okay to not know what you're doing and why you are here; but you have to cling onto the fact that if you had no purpose in life; you would not be here at all.
@Scorpio52 I do like that idea Thank you, hope I helped a little
I have a lot of thoughts on purpose.
For instance, I think that a lot of people put too much thought into what their actual purpose is. A majority of us see purpose as this great profound thing that we are put here on this earth to do, but what if it isn't?
What if our purpose is more abstract, something less noticeable (however, still important)?
I think that a lot of people just assume that their purpose is going to be something great, something meaningful, or something that it is going to get them recognized by at least the people around them; and to be fair depending on the person that might be true. But what if purpose for a majority of us (myself included) is to just "be", to exist in this world in order to keep things in balance.
I really believe that some people are "doers" and that some people (like myself) are just the support staff.
For years I have searched for my "purpose" in this world, and I was always really upset when it was nowhere to be found. Then last year, I almost died and all of a sudden I knew...I just knew what I was supposed to be doing. I had been fulfilling my purpose all along, by guiding people to theirs. I don't feel the need to search anymore because I realized that there is purpose in just about every thing that I do.
@MagiaMoonlight You hit it on the head here. Our purpose is important, not necessary to have notoriety for having done it. Those moments in life where we realize that we won’t live forever give us a new understanding. Mine happened (when I finally GOT it) when I was told I “had 6 months.” That was 3 yrs ago. Now, the realization is that I wake up every day and ask, “What will I do/where will I go today to make someone smile?”
Find your purpose in God
wasnt talking to u Scorpio
Okay...new to the site and it says I have a reply from @MagiaMoonlight, but I cannot find it. LOL
@TheAnonymousHoarder It just means I empathized on it…this site is glitchy sometimes.
my doctor told me my purpose in life is to be happy
@java I found some research study results that back up your opinion scinetifically. Helping others is one of the things that make us feel better and have a purpose in our lives. I work in school and it feels great to see those young people receiving my knowledge and help.
I am also feeling lonely because of HPV virus I have and when I get home from work I just … disappear. 11sososweet, we are all here for the same reason, so let’s help each other.
Thanks everyone!! :) lolcat3000 I do believe in God, I feel like I should be what God wants me to be. I try to read my bible sometimes but it is sometimes difficult to understand but I'm not giving up :)
Same Java, however, i almost feel like i know how to care about people, but i don't know how to care for myself, it is a weird thing
