I feel that the Mental Heath care system needs some change. They need to think about who they are truly helping instead of focusing so much on the money aspect of it. Insurances are rediculous these days. Just talking to someone should not cost an average of $250. If an average person doesn't even make that in a day, why should a therapist/ psychologist make that in an hour? I know they have malpractice insurance, office space rent etc. but still that's rediculous! People can't afford to get help unless they are rich!
@K14 I think the main problem is with how they are paid. With the way it as the moment, being paid per session, it basically means they’re better off not helping their patients get better, because otherwise they lose money. Where as if they keep their patients as they are , needing help but not getting it, then they keep getting paid… It’s a very flawed system.
I wish that I actually felt better after talking to a therapist, but I don't. Nothing helps & I still wish I didn't exist. :( because therapy doesn't replace having actual people in your life you can talk to about stuff.
