I have 3 herniated disks from an auto accident October 4 ,2014.Some days the pain is horrible ,what pain medication does the group suggest.
It really depends on what kind of pain you are experiencing. If it is a nerve related injury (which it sounds that way) then it would be best relieved with what is called a Neuropathic pain reliever. Two examples of these are Gabapentin and Lyrica. I take Lyrica currently for my nerve damage and it is a life saver. You can also use them in conjunction with an NSAID like Celebrex; or Tylenol. Good luck!
Look into a good cold compression back wrap. You don't want to become dependent on medication. Some people don't think of treating with cold for chronic pain but some really respond well to it. worth a look into at least.

cold ice packs are good, those two meds make you gain weight, well they did for me, I would suggest seeing a pain management doctor and they can tell you the best course of treatment. People response differently to different meds.
I have been on tramadol and baclofen, not really happy with them. The problem may be that tramadol is addictive not what I want at all.
@Honduras Tramadol can kill you it causes serotonin syndrome where your brain overproduces serotonin LOOK IT UP !!! It almost killed me caught it just in time. Baclofen is good for a short short spell then your body goes haywire You should definitely change your meds
Does anyone recommend pain management group in Tampa ,Florida,I am a worried about getting into a pill mill by mistake
@Honduras No, I don’t know anything about this pain management group. But i understand your concern about getting into a pill mill. When I lived in Indiana, my pain guy had me on 30 mg of oxycontin (very good pain reliever) twice a day so 60 in total. I was also taking 10 mg of oxycodene up to 4 times a day. I moved to Michigan recently, and the first thing my pain guy told me was that I was on too much pain medication. He weaned me down to 10 mg of the oxycontin twice a day for 20 mg a day and the oxycodene 3 times a day. He also recommended surgery, which i had and which definitely helped (my pain was in my shoulder area). After one shoulder surgery I was down to one 10 mg oxycontin once a day! no oxycodenes. I am going for my other shoulder surgery next week and after that I hope to be able to wean off totally. my pain guy had said he would NOT give me pain medicine indefinintely. If things hadn’t worked out he would have sent me to a pain clinic. I think they consider more options besides pain pills in these pain clinics. The pain management group you mentioned may be similar. I would at least make an appointment. If all they want to do is push pain pills down your throat, you have the option of going elsewhere.
