I have major depressive disorder. It has gotten in the way of my life in many ways, although I have been on medication to manage it for a year now. A month ago, my wife told me she is having an affair and wants a divorce. I can't help but feel like my disease is part of what drove her away.

There is light and hope even though it doesn't feel that way. Is there a support group that you can participate in?
You are not alone, there will be brighter days ahead.

Hm. I think having a mental illness of any kind is hard on family members. With that being said,if a person truly loves you they will support you in your time of need. I think your depression is causing you to blame yourself. You are not at fault here, you never chose to be this way. Sorry you're going through a rough time.
