I just found out my little brother has HIV and I feel lost. I am on a emotional roller coaster, I don't know how to help him and I feel so guilty like I should have protected him more

You only need to understand him and walk with his all the way

Hi Kelly86. it is so important to be supportive to your little brother and be there for him. Remember HIV is not a death sentence anymore.

By being loving and not being judgemental

Talk to him everyday on how he feels, whether he needs help with something, be by his side.. Dont let him be alone anywhere at all..

Because we are affected psychologically too.. So most of the time we lost hope because we felt lonely and no one to talk to.. Sometimes we wanted to do something but worried we might infect our loved ones.. Its heart breaking T_T

Never be ashamed of being diagnosed with HIV ! Number one there is not a label on your forehead .. So no one has to know ... Only who you have sex with & choose to tell ....
I secluded myself away from public for a long time ... But I managed to wake up & begin to live life ! I found hate from some ... But that is not a reason to be brought down ... In fact use it to climb higher & prove the hate unwarranted
