I just found this website that has a 7 step program for quitting sugar. radiantrecovery.com. They suggest buying their book, but if you go to the "7 Steps" tab, you can click on each step and it gives a lot of details about each one. Basically the steps are about eating better before you attempt quitting sugar, making sure you eat enough protein and switching to whole grain foods. There are a lot of good tips on this website, I think I might give it a try, or at least take the advice about upping my protein. I already eat whole grains and few refined flours, but I am pretty bad about eating enough protein.

I am goign to find that website. Thank you!!

Oh good, glad I could help. I will send some other menu ideas to you later!

Hi, I'm very frustrated. ..I got rid of gluten, eat enough protein, veggies...blah blah...but is the pleasure of sugar and chocolate that gets me....I'm not hungry when I binge...:-(

Oh I hear you. I love it too. But I think the hope is when you take the last step and get rid of sugar it will lose it's hold on you. Easier said than done I guess. I am finding for me that I can't just reduce, I am going to have to get rid of it all. My husband did a Candida cleanse and cut it out, and after a few days he didn't want it anymore. Even when the cleanse was over he hasn't wanted it or added it back. (But he never loved it as much as I do!)

Qutting sugar is very emotional.. some of my favorite memories include sugar. I think thats why it is so hard. I am trying to fill that void of not having sugar with other enjoyable things. Its not easy thats for sure. Im not sure what that is yet. I think that it is different for everyone. Good luck in your journey :)
