There are ways to quit everywhere. Your doctor would love to help, for one! I used Chantix and then moved to vaping.

I was set free by the power in the name of Jesus. That addiction cost me many things in my life, but thank the Lord for His power, I am now 2 and a half free from it!

You should be scared about cancer. Surround yourself with positive messages and give it time.

Chantix is a good option, but don' try it if you have any issues with depression. I am currenly using the patch and it seems to be helping a lot. I would recommend talking to your doctor, he/she may have more specific recommendations for you.

Take the money you were spending on smokes and put it in a jar every day, it's amazing how fast it adds up and by doing it daily, it's a daily reminder of how well you did not smoking. And if you do smoke....just start quitting again tomorrow...one day at a time. I finally quit after smoking for over 20 years and I was smoking over 2 packs a day. I've been smoke free for over a year....you can do it

@chelleanne71 And you’re still sane…Awesome job

I wrote a pitiful post somewhere on here about quitting for like a week, but now it's been almost a month and i'm still smoke-free. The cravings were and still are intense but the euphoria from waking up knowing your bodies a little cleaner and you have such strong will-power is awesome :) I was only ever a 5-6 day smoker and my body/mind feel pumping more with vitality.

I'm a crazy-insomniac ridden-obsessional-highly addictive type of person and i'd never ever thought i'd be able to pull it off this long. At times i've laid on the floor grasping at the carpet till the craving passes and it's always past.

When the craving are an all day thing and i can't stand the constant obsessional thoughts and pumps of adrenaline telling me to smoke a cig and would rather not sit with my head clutched in my hands all day i take a tranquilizer and it weakens the cravings for that day immensely. These are minor tranquilizers like valium, clonazepam, xanax, etc. and a local GP might prescribe you a few of them just to get through the toughest cravings.

I haven't tried chantix and wellbutrin and frankly i'm not comfortable with the chemical effects of those drugs and the way they alter the chemistry to make you crave the cigs less. The minor tranqs like valium modulate your neuropathways by allowing a relaxing neurotansmitter called GABA to flood your brain, overpowering the adrenaline and all the negative effects you feel during a tough craving. Another supplement that works almost the same way is phenibut but it's less potent(doses start at 200mg), however you can get 100g of the stuff for about 20$ so it's quite affordable! I have to stress though you'll have to have enough self control with these things to only take a dose if you get a smoking craving so powerful it cripples you and it's all you can think about, or else you'll have a worse monkey on you're back! Nicotine also activates the choline receptor in a very powerful way so some choline supplements might help a bit, but i've never heard from a smoker it helped, it just seems like it could.

Anyway stick in there and butt outt! maybe buy a bristol board or calender and mark an interlocking chain using x's or o's and add a new link everyday you make it smoke free. It'll get quite long before you know it and it'll feel mighty bad to have a broken(miss-colored) or missing link!

YOU GOT THIS!!!
