i just recently started taking ativan again. the only thing that i can to take my anxiety away and the only thing that helps me sleep. which i have had insomnia most of my life and i am almost 60. any suggestions on what i could take that i dont have to rely on ativan??
There are natural things you could try like magnesium but you would need to read up on the different kinds to see which one you want to try. There are relaxation techniques you could look up as well, one specific one is called legs up the wall that you could do every night along with a natural supplement.
As for taking something to keep you more stable all the time would be an antidepressant but of course one that works for you and the right dosage. No matter what you consider you need to read up on it first. Because there are side effects on everything and drug interactions so always check with you Dr first or at the very least your pharmacist, they will be happy to answer your questions and give you additional information.
Make sure your bedroom is dark and more on the cooler side so it might be helpful to have at least a small fan to circulate air, also the noise of the fan could block out other noises and the silence that could help you sleep better. Start walking and exercising several days a week that can help you sleep better as well. If you are a worrier and think about things when you go to bed then that could be keeping you awake so things to help with that is Journaling AR least a little before you go to bed can help get thoughts out of your head. Really there are tons of things you can do to help yourself.
