I just turned 55 years old and I haven't had a period in over a year. I had a few hot flashes but nothing too bad. I thought this menopause business was going to be a breeze . . . until this week.
I've been spotting off and on but now I have horrible cramps. I feel like my ovary is going to explode! I'm in tears, the cramps are so bad. Is this normal?
I think menopause it's different for everyone mine stopped at 49 and I sorted for awhile but other than hot flashes I didn't have much trouble, if you aren't sure go to a Dr he can tell you what's normal or not.
hey there and welcome to the group! Sorry to hear about the terrible pain...the supplement calcium/magnesium/zinc combo can help with the cramps along with increasing your dairy intake ... I also take 500mg of magnesium before bed...this helps nerve function and can reduce the cramps you are having. I have had many ladies tell me about the cramps and I myself had them terribly until I began the supplements...they helped me wonderfully! If you are still having difficulty after using them for a week or so, I would get it checked out. You may start with 250mg of magnesium at first and work up... some folks have problems with magnesium at first and NEVER go over 500mg! I hope this helps and glad to hear you have been breezing thru till now...hopefully this will help you get back to breezing instead of cramping...sending feel better soon hugs!!
Thanks. I happen to have magnesium. I'll give your suggestion a try.

Nothing worse that these awful cramps where you feel double in two pain but it's also good how we can control the pain of hurt when we get those pains weather it's sitting standing or talking don't think there's a easy cure for this pain
@elizabeth01 Hello dear…actually, you may find some relief by increasing dairy products and adding calcium to your list of supplements. Hope this helps…I know these cramps can be debilitating for some!!
