I’m a 50 year old male. In the past 8 years I’ve had Achilles surgeries. Have a great surgeon. He suggested a bka about 2 years ago. I was very active in sports prior. So I’m competitive by nature. I want going to let pain win. In reality the surgeries and pain meds have allowed we to go to work and then come home and lay in the bed with my foot up. I feel like I’m just existing not living. I have come to level of peace to do the surgery. My questions are, and I know it’s patient dependent, but is it really possible that I could get back to running playing basketball and golf. And is it feasible to pass a driving test 5 months post op. I may lose my job if I can’t.

You should be able to do all of those things after surgery as long as everything goes well. It will be difficult mentally as much as physically so definitely be prepared for that. Good luck
