I’m married but have no friends

My husband and I have been together since 2019, and married since 2022. We live together and have our own careers. He moved down to the state that I live so we can be together, leaving his family and friends. He still has communication with them by playing online together.

I struggle to make and keep friends, however. I’ve used apps such as Bumble bff, but nothing has really worked. I’ve reached out to people I’ve known from school on FB, that also hasn’t worked. I don’t understand why I can’t seem to make friends.

You can, but building trust costs a lot of time when it comes to making friends. Do you lack any social cues that you don’t know how to keep friendships? Or are you afraid that any of friends will abandon you if you become close with them?

It is really hard to make friends as an adult, but some places to try are adult sport leagues, very popular in the summer, book clubs, neighborhood women’s groups (not sure if you are women, not assuming), hiking groups, yoga, exercise groups, religious services, craft and cooking classes. Just to name a few. -SG
