I think my biggest problem, the reason that I don't like myself so much, is because my weight... And I've been trying so hard to lose weight but I can't seem to have any progress, or get motovated
Maybe you're stressing too hard about losing weight? Instead of thinking diet, cutting calories, etc., think eating more healthy options. Snack on fruit instead of whatever you normally snack on. Add more veggies and a little less starch (potatoes, pasta, rice) at meals. Pay attention to servings and drink plenty of water. Small changes will make a difference. And move a little more. Find an activity you enjoy and exercise doesn't have to be a chore but fun and something you look forward to. You can do it! :-)
Hi Jamie: I did some research on motivation in dealing with my own issues. What the research suggested is we often have to grand of a goal. Perhaps loosing weight is too grand! Jimisgirl made some excellent suggestions. Rather than a goal to loose weight, make your goal to make a habit of just one of her recommendations. Perhaps to drink a glass of water before any food ingestion. Motivation always fades and the solution to that problem is to make things easy. Why not pick just one of her suggestions and make it a habit. Once that activity is a routine in your life, pick another idea. In time you'll have a string of successful small doable goals and the weight loss will follow. Good luck!
