I'am brand new to this site having joined this past Sunday evening. I feel so fortunate to have found it!

I am still not sure as to what I'm doing when I post a reply to someone elses message? I find where someone has posted and wants to someone to reply and when I write to them to lend my support, I find that they had posted their message months and months before.

How do you know that you're replying to someones message in real time?

. . . I'm just trying to understand how to offer my support to others, when they need it most, which is in real time.

Just take a look at the posted dates at the very top of the user's entry. It generally gives you the date, the time, who last responded, how many comments there and how many people that have read the posting.
