If you received BLEOMYCIN (ABVD)....Please read this

Mastern,

Couldn't agree more, and will be discussing this with my onc next Weds. Best wishes for a lot of good tomorrows for your daughter and yourself.

Ross,

Also, couldn't agree more. But when I was diagnosed, I was very ill, and seeing things only through a glass darkly. I didn't have the strength to research my options. I was struggling to eat breakfast. I was happy with limited choices. The future is rosy enough for me now, the details can be sorted out as they arise.

The future is rosy for new Hodgkins sufferers, too, as understanding continues to grow. In 10 years time, the state of the art now will look like the state of the ark.

As an addendum, I posted this in another thread today:

"I saw my oncologist this morning for my 9th (clear) annual check-up. He said that the toxic effect of bleomycin improves over time, and I now have no real need to be alarmed. It would of course be a good start to a conversation with an anaesthetist.. So I can breathe easy. Well, no, I can't, for other reasons, but you know what I mean."

This thing seems to be selective in its choice of victim, and my reassurance might not work for others. So ask, and thanks mastern, for flagging this up.
