I'm new here. Just recently got completely annihilated by what I believe is a narc. Meets all the classic signs. Always got REAL angry when I disagreed with him. But still, I thought what we had was special, and I would describe what he did as "dropping me like a hot rock". After all he said that made me feel so good, he can just move on so easily? I am talking about telling me I mean so much to him and he always wants me in his life ONE DAY and completely cutting off contact the NEXT DAY. How? I am so lost.
Sounds like you're right, beenused. And what a hideous experience! The discard can be insanely abrupt. My own father did exactly what you're describing. Cut me off utterly when I was 57 and he was 88. And hasn't looked back--I'm sure he doesn't even miss me! It's so baffling because we never dream there are creatures like narcs in the human race. They are nothing like normal people in the way they think, feel and operate. They see others as nothing more important than a toaster that can be thrown away when it breaks or when a fancier model is available.
