I'm usually pretty good about keeping myself busy and entertaining myself, but lately I just want to connect with people. My husband uses my car to go to work and sometimes works 16 hour shifts so when he is around he is asleep or doing volunteer work. I live about 10 miles from the nearest community and 20 miles from the closest towns with public transportation. The isolation is beginning to get to me.
Talk to us piercingecho. We're here and we all know what loneliness feels like:)
hugs- you are not alone in feeling this way
Sounds like you are strong to be able to handle the isolation as long as you have. Glad you posted here. Any chance you can drive him to work, drop him off, and then have the car all day? Probably not, but thought I'd mention it just in case. Hope you have a good day today. <3
@afunk hi. Sometimes I do drop him off and use the car for errands. Depending on where he works, he is 45 minutes to an hour one way, so that is 3- 4 hours out of my day to drive him and a lot of miles on the car. I am also working toward an online degree, so that really does use a lot of my time in the day.
Thank you for all your comments. We are saving to move, or I would buy another car. I think my husband has noticed that I'm starting to feel the effects of this because he is planning on changing his shifts to graveyard so I'll have more access to the car when needed.
@PiercingEcho That would be really nice of him. If that’s the case, maybe things will be better for you soon. Glad we can be here for you during the tough times and crossing my fingers that he follows through for you. And good for you for working on an online degree and saving for a new house! Sounds like you’re doing everything right to make a better life… inspiring. Thank you. <3
