Hello everyone,
I have a friend of mine who suffered a mini stroke back in October. He also has absence seizures followed by the stroke. He has gaps in memory like doesn't know year or who the president is. Im trying to understand all this, is a full recovery possible for him? His Dr.'s have said their is no damage. But if thats the case where are the seizures coming from? and Why does he have gaps in his memory and stutters as well?
Cwampler
Hi Cwampler, I am so sorry for what your friend is going through following his stroke. Has he seen a neurologist or specialist who can give more insight to these side effects? As well, did the doctor let you know if this would be short-term?
thank you puppydoglvr. I don't know if he has or not. Im just trying to learn. Like I said he had a mini stroke...now has absent seizures...has a bit of a stutter, and memory gaps.
hey-im not trying to scary you but those things ARE NOT NORMAL!!!!! your friend needs to go and see a good neurologist (where are you, by the way?!) I am a stroke surviovor myself (had a major stroke in 2008 at the age of 35 due to the blood clot out of nowhere, and am still recovering) I just lost a dear dear friend to brain cancer this past summer, who had similar symptoms. If you truly do care about this person GET HIM/HER YO THE DOCTOR ASAP!!!! GET CT scan, MRI,, anything you can get!!! time lost is brain lost. If you are in CA, Bay Area, i could recommend doctors/people to see.
