Ireland has just become the first country to vote in marriage equality :)
The Irish Marriage Equality referendum resulted in 62.1% voting in favour of introducing same-sex marriage.
The result has been described as a social revolution, an expression of decency and a country coming of age.
The fact that Ireland voted in same-sex marriage, rather than just introducing the law sends a powerful message of acceptance, and signifies a big, positive change in attitude towards the LGBT+ community.
