Is it childish for someone to feel discomfort looking at worms? The thing is I don't have an intense phobia of worms, but I don't like them.

I am scared stiff of snakes, and when large worms move they make me think of snakes. So yes I to have the discomfort. Is it childish? Not anymore than someone who wants to run when seeing a spider, or a rodent.

@starship Well, the thing is my dad was irritated when I saw a worm and he said to me like “don’t be like a baby”. This was very disrespectful of him.

@KidDJ Yes it was. I heard those words a-lot from my parents The other words were grow up. Hardly ever heard any encouraging remarks. Have gone through my life with little self confidence and am very pessimistic. Words hurt at the time and can linger for decades.

@starship Yeah, that’s 100% true. Actually, my dad isn’t a bad person, but he is temperamental.
