It's a skin disease! I know that with proper diet and medication I can make a very happy and useful life for myself and others. Everyone please keep the Faith, you were given this for a reason and although it might not be clear now Why, it truly will bring better people into your lives and you will also help others as well!
I'm trying to stay positive despite this diagnosis at 42 years old. My middle aged dating life has been a nightmare, realizing that the majority of men I've met are not interested in a committed relationship despite what they tell you in the beginning. I'm guessing this new life I'm facing will bring only a quality person into my life, who's interested truly in me and my heart and not just sex.
@Wolflover72 You are correct in saying that this will only bring a quality person into your life. Stay positive and the person or people that will come into your life and stay there are the ones that you need to be with. I cant regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it, the future is uncertain and all we have is today!! Embrace life and don’t give up before the miracle happens!!
Couldn't agree more!! It could always be worse. I'm 19 and got diagnosed 3 months ago, I've learned sitting around feeling sorry for yourself only makes it worse. Get up everyday with a smile on your face and not only will your life be better but outbreaks will stay at bay! Have faith
I couldn't agree more about the diet and exercise! In talking with my doctor and a health store owner, the fact that I eat right, exercise and take certain supplements on a daily basis is why my immune system is so strong. Part of why I'm so shocked about this diagnosis...I've never had an outbreak! Not even a cold sore! Hoping HSV lies dormant forever! But I know if I let the stress and depression take over, I may be doomed!
@Wolflover72 Your healthy lifestyle is doing just that, keeping you healthy. Look for ways to overcome stress and depression. Meditation maybe? It’s a great stress buster!!
