I've posted before about mother in law and how i had an amazing relationship with her till her son asked me for a divorce. I haven't heard from her since my stbx told her that he wants to divorce me. She never called me to see how i am doing. Now mind you this woman always told me how much she loves me. Today is her bday and i decided to do the right thing and i txtd her happy bday have a great day. Hours later she just said thank you. Thats it. Not even how are you. Again she txtd my stbx this divorce lawyers number and was glad when he called. I know that bc i went through his phone.
Did i do the right thing?
That is tough. there is no right or wrong thing, just hurt feelings. its up to u whether or not u want to keep contact but it seems to me like she doesnt

Guess you don't no what your stbx has told her . Maybe she finds it awkward to be the same with you .

@speedy i know. He did go her when we had two big fights. But she should know better. She knows what kind of a person i am. Thats why it bothers me. The text is sent and its done. Ill get over it.
Don't worry about her. Honestly she had to stand by her son, I would unless I was sure he did wrong. That is what mothers do for their children. She best she can do is to keep her distance from you so that she doesn't get mixed up in sides. You did fine to wish her happy birthday, that was nice if you, but try to move on from the relationship you had with her as well. It sucks we gave do much to get over during an divorce!
@Jenn7814 Jenn, it bothers me so much because she knows im a good wife and a person and knows how much i love her son. She would tell me how difficult her son can be and that she understands me. I dont know what my stbx could possibly say to her for her to betray me. She should know better. Instead if encouraging her son to work on his marriage bc i am worth it she did the opposite. Makes me so angry. I trusted her now i cant stand her.
