Just a little encouragement to stroke victims and their families. This time last year my husband had a stroke. The doctor, the nurses, the case manager all said ,"He can never be left alone at home again. He could cook something, burn the house down, and not know how to get out." He was falling a lot too. A year later all his brains and good sense are back. He functions totally on his own. He walks well. My manager's husband had a stroke a week after my husband's. His mind snapped back to normal over a period of time. He walks well. They're well. It can happen.
That is amazing, thank you for sharing this!
Thank you Ms Bailey. My husband had a stroke that was recently diagnosed and he's not sleeping well and is having problems with his left side and this past June he has vascular surgery for a blockage on his left leg. He's 65 and retired and was taking care of his elderly parents. You post is encouraging to me in that it lets me know that he can get better. I need to go back to work and my job has been very supportive of his health issues.
It took a while. But as more time has passed he's continued to improve.
I was 34, and had mine in Feb 2016. My physical movement is ok, but my thought and speech process is off. I also am now on seizure meds because I had a few seizures since the stroke, and am now sensitive to fluorescent lights, loud sounds and background movements. It sends me into seizure mode (auras). And I can't seem to ever get them under control. Because even when I'm staying away from what I know will send me into an aura, I end up finding something totally new almost everyday. It seems to shutsmy whole body down.

I don't know if you believe in prayer but I'll keep you in mine.
