Just a reminder folks: as in all other online venues, SG is prime hunting ground for trolls. An internet troll is defined as "a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."
I've recently fallen prey to one, as many of you have noticed. It's hard to not get wrapped up in communications with a troll, as their very purpose and delight is to press your buttons in an attempt to make you "go off." The best thing to do if you encounter a troll is to ignore and report. Trying to engage in any kind of logical debate or intelligent interaction will only add fuel to the fire.
If you become the target of an internet troll just take screenshots of any offensive/argumentative interactions and email them to SG at [email protected].
