Just got back from my second appointment with the ent trying

just got back from my second appointment with the ent trying to figure out the cause of the ringing in my ear thats been happening for about a month now. getting an mri and the doc says it's either a neuroma which would be taken out, or it's not and I'll have to learn to live with the tinnitus. honestly i would rather there be something there and have to have surgery to take it out than to be stuck with tinnitus.

Welcome to SupportGroups and Norseduncan is the moderator of this group. So glad to have you here with us. I am also glad to hear that you are getting tests done to figure this out. I have suffered from the ringing for many years and I have used Ginko Biloba for it seems to help a bit.

hmm, that's tough. are you still trying to figure it out? that is a fairly recent and sudden onset for tinnitus (mine has been with me as long as I can remember). if it is a neuroma, I would want to know the risks involved in surgical intervention. you can learn to live with it, even if it is bad. mine causes hearing loss to the point I can read lips a bit because I have to. but it can be lived with. you might also look into some of the remedies that are out there. it is a very tough condition, because so many things can cause it, and not all of them can be fixed.

@Zcool1a it depends on the cause. mine is from inner ear damage as a child, and has been with me all my life. mine cannot be fixed, so living with it is all I can do. yours seems more of a sudden onset. maybe try going to a physician, especially an audiologist, and see if there is a solution for you

@Zcool1a maybe try an audiologist. unfortunately treating tinnitus is hit or miss, and a lot of miss. it depends on the cause
