Hi LandofUZ
I have recently weaned myself off Luvox. I have taken about 6 weeks although the Doc said only a month should do it but I wanted to take it easy. I started breaking the 100mg in half for a fortnight; then I would take 50mg every second day for a fortnight; and then the last fortnight I just took 2 x 50mg a week.
After reading some of the side effects, I can relate to some. Like this afternoon I had the sprinkler going on the front lawn and my husband came out to speak to me about something and walked on the wet grass and then walked on my newly cleaned tiles into the house onto my internal newly cleaned tiles and I absolutely called him for everything and I ended up crying.
Although I think he doesn't appreciate the effort I put into keeping our house clean, I also think I over-reacted and now I have a reason why .......Luvox.
I wish you well and success with your weaning effort but be prepared for some of the side effects, as I was completely unaware of them until I read the above post from Bluidkitti.
Kind regards
JMJ
I didn't make it clear in my initial post that I believe the nausea and pain were the result of taking 300 mg/day of luvox. A year ago, I cut back to 200 mg/day and that felt alot better. Now I have begun 150mg / day because of substantial nausea. Years ago, when I cut back to 200 mg/day. I felt a strong change in my sex drive, however, these days cutting back doesn't produce that same increase in sex drive or other noticeable withdrawl symptoms.
Hey landofUZ
You were certainly on a high dose of Luvox, I am sorry I didn't realise when I answered your post. I hope you cut back under the doctor's instructions as it can be dangerous to do it how you think.
No doubt the nausea and aches are from cutting back. I think you need to consult your doctor immediately and be guided by what he says.
I wish you all the luck in the world.
Kind regards
JMJ
