I've been struggling with an anxiety/ panic problem for months now. Originally my doctor at school had me on buspirone, which does nothing. When i went to the ER for a massive panic attack my doctor prescribed me Ativan, which calmed me but I wasn't very functional. I was also on beta-blockers, which worked but gave me an asthma attack. My new psychiatrist gave me Lexapro last week, and I had a terrible reaction, which caused me to have another massive panic attack, and I've tried Xanax, but that just made sleeping awful. I guess what I'm asking is if anyone knows of any milder medicine i could try, because as of right now I'm to scared to try anything else, but also I can't live my life the way I've been living it.
Have you tried paxil?
nope. I heard that it's very similar to Lexapro though.
Yeah thts the problem most of them are very similar but they all have their difference tht small difference might b what works for u research some suggestions cause I'm also in the middle of finding the right one been on everything you tried but had those **** side effects....im currently on a trial for some new one called Lucatille think I smelled tht right so all I can say were in a similar boat but u just have to keep at it
Hi,
I was a great science project before they settled on stuff for me.
wellbutrin twice a day and your favorite xanex in generic form 1mg each.
so if your xanex makes you sleep it's to much and if it strings you out it's to much. And i've lived with this crap for years but it keeps me from bouncing off the walls. xanex is supposed to calm and take the rough parts out.
so my best advice for you is to tell them how you feel so they can adjust or change medicines. I really did go through lots of them until they found out what worked.
a natural calmer is catnip tea. and believe it or not it tastes pretty good.
Health food stores or on line for that one.
I hope i helped you some, but they'll change things if you tell them. Some drugs are really strong. sounds like you don't need that you just want the edge taken off. I'm the same way.
good luck
Hello! I'm on Paxil now, and it seems great so far. I feel as if what I was on before really wasn't working as good as I thought it was, compared to now. I can get started cleaning house sometimes without having to make myself do it. However, the house cleaning is still a work in progress. Before, I was on Abilify and Wellbutrin, but my doctors took me off of it. I had some health problems in April/May so I had no other choice than to try something else. I hope you keep looking for the right fit for you. I even had to change doctors to get anything different. I wish you well.
I've been taking Paxil for a while and after I was in a car accident I had the dosage increased. The medication has made it possible for me to drive a car and ride in a car without much problem. That with therapy has been incredibly successful. If you get a good psychiatrist they will know what medications are out there. It's hard when you have to try different medications (I have gone through the same process).
I agree with Michael though, if you don't tell your doctors what you are experiencing that can't adjust your dosage. I hope the best of luck for you and if you need anything feel free to send me a message
