i have never been away from him like this, he will be gone for 7 months which feels like an eternity, i feel incredibly alone.
hi…so may i ask what the bootcamp is for?
the navy
ok. im so sorry he will be gone so long, it must be tough. will you be able to talk on the phone at all? i hope you can lean into some family or friends or even just on here…just to help you along, you know? just think it will be over so quickly and he will be home again. you could tick off the days on a calendar. but i know its tough.
You might want to check on resources through family support centers and such. Once you are married you will have access, but until then I’m not sure.
Being the spouse of a military person can be tough, harder than most realize. Deployments are a reality you have to get used to. But there are various groups to help people deal with it. And once you are married and likely living in an area with many other husbands and wives in the same situation, often those communities of deployed spouses can bond and support each other.
I’ve been on both sides of the coin, and it can be tough. Just be glad you are in a day and age where communication is much easier. Back when I first got married it was either very tough, very expensive, or both. $100 an hour phone calls were a real thing back before current day tech.
