My husband's father has had diabetes for several years and done a poor job at managing it and keeping himself healthy. Last night they had an hour long phone call where his dad told him about seeing shadow people and wanting to understand what they want. I recently buried my grandmother from dementia and feel like my father in law is spiraling down the same path but don't know how to tell my husband. With my family, taking the right steps was just something I had to do. I don't know how to make the suggestion for him to see a professional about this without overstepping my bounds. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Ask your husband what your mother in law and father in law's plan for the future is, how they want to handle his progressing illness and offer to help in whatever way you can. Hugs and welcome!
