Newly diagnosed aboas ut 6 months ago started long time ago after I was diagnosed I started reading about N falling asleep in cars tired always not much interest in anything getting board easily even friends not many if none so I am a 37 year old man 2 kid's wife house 3 years ago I got my Harley lots of riding when I'm on bike no symptoms why? Since diagnosed its scaring me to rid as much I notice at work I'm startin to loose my grip on it is it Sicko somatic or dident notice befor its quickly destroying everything I worked for it is all I can think about wake up take meds oops can't drive car so I walk to train ride for 1 hr get on subway walk to Work I can't multi task anymore I get confused forget what I'm doing as I'm doing it I want it to go away NARCOLEPSY SUCKS I'm not sure how meds are supposed to work or what they are supposed to make me feel my sister is also a narcoleptic she found out years ago I don't like talking to people so my questions are un answered this **** is suckyi I need help

Was just diagnosed this past week and sure do feel a lot of what ur saying about second guessing yourself and forgetting also nobody i know understands it .I guess it is truly a lonely world,my dr.is okay i guess i went for appnea test and came out narcoliptic,and to top things off he acted excited about it,so idon't know either. I truly hope your life gets under control and mine also my career depends on it I'm a trk drvr at nite and sleep all day if it can b called sleep,so far the nuvigil do's not seem to be doing what i was told or he strt'd me off on a low dose don't know.As far as the forgetfullness I think it REALY REALY SUCKS I do every thing for my household and not sure how it's going too work out trying to b strong for my wife and daughter but don't know what to expect slugish all the time who knew I always thought that this was just from being busy but I guess.
I believe you had posted your on the 150 mg of Nuvigil, that is the low dose. Give it a few more days then talk to your doctor about uping your dose; Also I had to have my doctor add a stimulant (ritalin, adderal and there is another 1 I just don’t know the name of it).
Yes I will be carefull I know it probably wont be long lasted up until now I only had to worry about goute and boy this is something I wasn't redy for . But then who is redy to be told that they have to be on medication the rest of their lives just to be alert for 4-6hrs a day. I'm not sure if I've got any form of cateplexy but I know this problem with my rem sleep has always as far back as I remember has been part of life but I learned how to wing it I guess who knows mabye,I will do my best to be safe around all out there with me thnk-u for your concern for rite now I don't know what else to do because of insurance and how too support my family.I hope that it can be controlled with the meds for rite now this a grey area for both federal and state rules they both don't recomend but both say it's up to my dr.and he wont sign anything due too liability go figure . He says I can still drv but wont comit to it,I am so confused sometimes about this besides being a little lost in my own mind.well I promise to be carefull and yes I always remember the others around me .
I hear you I recently asked my boss for a transfer in position I’m a parts manager I cannot multitask or concentrate any more so now I will just be a shop guy lucky they won’t take any pay away remember their is a thing called persons with disability act they have to accommodate you narcolepsy is a disease it can work for you be honest with the boss there are many links to send them its not just falling asleep good luck

I've got a feeling they are hoping I quit but I don't know about where you work but I purchase shrt and lng term disability insurance every week but more than likely they could put my in the warehouse not never seen so many people act as though I have the plauge,truly sad been with these guy's for almost 2.5 yrs and they act as though if I come near them I gone pass this off it is so hard to explain but I know I get threw this and what ever comes next I hope.thnks again and I promise if I feel like todays the day to hand it in then I will for all around me but especialy for my families sake even though this something new for all of us here they are with me all the way.hope to have a peacefull nite later
I’m in Massachusetts talk to your hr department they have to accommodate you definitely look up info on all N and the act I’m not the best with info I just looked for all this recently also I got a disability card for riding the traon to work I get 1/2 fair saves me some cash still have car payments for 3 mor years but keep low miles lol I don’t want to mess up credit got my shrink tonight for my depression it’s getting worse yeay me out!
