My best friend during middle and high school had always been my horse. I would go to him for everything, and always felt better after seeing him. About a month before he passed away, I starting dating someone. He has become another best friend of mine, and now I always go to him. They were my escape when life got bumpy. My horse passed away about a year and half ago, and both my boyfriend and I are in college now, in different cities. I have trouble dealing with my stress since both my best friends aren't around. I also feel like I may be slowly dipping into depression. What are some things I could do to relieve the hurt and sadness I feel when I don't have them to go to at the time?
I really understand what you mean. When we have a person or an animal that we love and loves us it can make such an amazing difference in our lives. When that goes away it can leave you feeling empty inside. I am glad you turned here because people are here to listen when you are feeling down.
As in terms with dealing with depression what other activities do you do during the week? Maybe there are things you can do to keep your mind of off things as well as the stress.
between class, work and homework there isn't too much i do. i work out at a horse farm, and that is very therapeutic for me, but then i come home and slowly go back into that feeling of loneliness/ sense of loss, and i'm at a roadblock of what to do next...
