New to this site and group. Recognizing I have a shopping addiction and I will do whatever it takes to justify the purchase. Went to visit family for the holidays and had 20 packages waiting for me when I returned. My other half was like really….
Our 18 year old moved out of the house so we decided to re-organize the house and rooms and try to declutter… We had used the large master bedroom as our office and game room as it was big enough to have all three of our desks and a large sofa for watching movies and console gaming. We basically took everything from the office/game room and our bedroom other than large furniture and put it in the garage… I still can’t believe how much stuff we actually had in just these two rooms… we just kept buying and buying and never getting rid of anything… and half the time we had it already but because we couldn’t find it bought it again.
On top of realizing ( or finally admitting it ) that I have a shopping addiction I was diagnosed with throat cancer. Was a complete surprise as I don’t smoke, vape, hardly drink… so was going through 8 weeks of daily radiation and weekly chemo and just kept buying stuff to try to ignore what I was going through. On the recovery and healing side of treatment and have to wait three months for inflammation to go down for new scans but good news is the 4 nodes all shrunk and potentially are gone now and they caught it early before it spread. Crossing fingers. Not sure what it is but buying something and receiving it no matter what is, or if even needed, is just a big excitement and everything else fades away to the background.
Thanks for listening … and look forward to other’s thoughts and comments. Appreciate it.
