Hello All! I am new to this group and just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I am a 35 year old single mom with a 3 year old son. We live in PA. I was diagnosed in 2008 but am certain that i had fibro many years before the diagnosis. I would love to make friends and be a friend! I feel very alone with this illness and get little support from the people close to me. I am very grateful for groups such as this! I am currently on 120mg of Cymbalta each day and 50mg Tramadol as needed. I have been having evil pain flares (haven't been able to work all week) I am looking for a good doc in PA that supports and will treat people with fibromyalgia...Am looking forward to meeting all of you! ~ Jessie
Hi Jessie, welcome to Support Groups! Thank you so much for being here with us and for sharing. I am so sorry for what you are going through, though I can tell that you have such a great attitude. Have you ever looked into alternative treatments, such as acupuncture? Also, here is a link to a site that I think may be helpful; http://www.myfibro.com/. Please know that I am here for you and here to help you in any way that I can.
I too am new to this group and new to fibro. I was told just 2 days ago that I have it. Not sure yet what to do with this news, as I have had 5 back surgs, and already have a morphine pump that keeps me going. So I knew something was wrong when all this pain was consuming me. But I don't know what to expect,so I've turned to this group to learn, make friends and most of all support. So I welcome all new friends and all the support I can get. I am 59 years young and my name is Tina.
Hi Tina, welcome to Support Groups, thank you so much for being here with us and for sharing. I am sorry for the pain that you are feeling, has your doctor given you any insight on how to better manage and alleviate the pain, as well have you looked into alternative therapies and treatments?
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hello, I am also new to this illness and wish you the best of luck. I am not sure myself how to deal with this pain and when if ever it will go away. Just stay strong and hang in there, that's what I am doing =)
HI JESSE. HOPE YOU'VE HAD SOME LUCK FINDING A DR. A RHEUMATOLOGIST MAY BE ABLE TO HELP YOU. JUST A TIP THOUGH, DON'T KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT NARCOTICS, BUT SOME DR'S WON'T GIVE FOR FIBRO. MINE DOESN'T BUT THATS OK CAUSE I CAN'T TAKE THE STUFF ANYWAY..Y OU SAID YOU DON'T HAVE FAMILY SUPPORT? IT'S ALWAYS NICE IF AT LEAST 1 PERSON UNDERSTANDS. LUCKY FOR YOU, U HAVE MANY! CC
