New

Hello everybody! I'm new here but I've been actually reading your posts for about a month now and feel like I owe you a formal intoduction. I was diagnosed with HL in April, underwent all testing including excision of a large axillary lymph node, bone marrow bipsy, CTs, PET scan, ECHO, PFT, etc. So far I had three oncology and four pathology opinions. The reason beeing - they can't figure out what type of HL I have and without being 100% sure they don't want to start the treatment. I was three days away from starting ABVD but they cancelled my appointment because they want to do another biopsy hoping that this time the results will be more conclusive. My first Dx was lymphocyte-predominant HL, then B-cell lymphoma, then lymphocyte-rich classical HL (all three treated in a different way); the last pathology report confirmed the first dx but my oncologist is still not sure as I display some symptoms characteristic for a classical HL. I feel very fortunate that I'm being treated in one of the best cancer centers in the country (Sloan-Kettering in NYC), I have a wonderful oncologist and I'm very confident that they will figure out my "case" and I will receive the appropriate treatment very soon. I feel very "normal", I don't have any B symptoms and my spirits are up; I'm 35 and I have a three year old at home so I definitely HAVE to beat this and I know I will!
This site is great and reading your posts brings me comfort every day. Thank you for being able to share my story (or just the begining of it!). I will keep you posted about my treatment.

Welcome to the group. I have to say that I really love your attitude. It can go a long way in treatment. I wish you the best and please keep us up to date.

Thank you, abner. I’m scheduled for another biopsy of my axilla and neck on Thursday. Keep me in your prayers that this time they will be able to figure out my exact dx!

Good luck with the diagnosis- You will definitely be in my prayers, and your daughter too!

kmelick,

Thank you for thinking of me. I had my surgery yesterday. A very long day! They did the biopsy on my axilla again plus neck. I feel like somebody hit me with a hammer! I hope these results will give us a definite answer about my treatment. I have a follow up with my surgeons and my oncologist next week. Keep your fingers crossed.
