Nobody to reach out to

I'm new here. I've had to distance myself and kids from my family to protect us from bullying. I'm depressed and dealing with certain traumas and trust issues.. I've pushed so many people away because I don't trust and open up. When I do, it backfires. Today my boyfriend chose to be home by himself rather than with me so it seems that relationships been pushed to the brink, too. I feel empty and just don't care. How do I start to reach out and trust and ask for what I need to the right people when I now feel I have nobody? Please help.

truthteller it sounds like you are seriously depressed... i have felt this way in my life many many times. are you currently taking anything for your depression? if so do you think it is helping you? if your not on it maybe it would be something to consider. i have tryed to stay strong and not take meds for a long time because i wanted to be able to do things on my own and do it in a healthy way. eventually the depression caught back up with me before i knew it. it took me sitting back and saying whoa im never happy im always mad at somone and i dont have no friends. i was close to getting a tattoo that said trust nobody. i mean i was depressed. well i got on some medication and i started feeling better for a little bit and then i got to where i tolerated it and i had to get on a new med. now i am on a new med i am doing alot better. just an idea and i hope things get better for you i am here if you wanna talk.

I agree with foxy. Have you tried meds to help. They are not the solution but they can help fight the fight. I too have suffered from bad depression (sever bipolar) and have lost many people to it due to pushing them away. Have you thought about also seeing a therapist? They really can help but it might take some patience to find one that is the best for you. They can help, they listen and offer tips to help relieve some of your stress. Something that really helps me daily is "cognitive therapy." The principle that it all starts in the brain. You think a certain way to make you feel a certain way which in turn makes you behave a certain way. Starting with little positive thoughts really helps. We are always here for you.
