Ok, First day again on Wellbutrin, my doctor told me I didn't have to stop smoking right away, but I plan these first few days to go from 10 cigarettes a day to 2 maybe and go from there. I am so tired of being a smoker and a passive agressive alcoholic. Thank God alcohol is not as bad as it used to but since is a trigger for smoking, then it needs to go too. I made my list of To-do things for tomorrow so I stay busy; I'll practice deep breathing and try to forget that my husband is the most unsupportive being I've ever known. That is why I write here, can't really talk to anybody. Hope this time I can make it!
Is your husband smoking and drinking around you? I got signed up with two programs for quitting smoking. One is very supportive and reminds me the quitting is a marathon, not just a sprint. In other words, they don't beat me up when I fail to meet my goal. The other one is very aggressive, but they provide free replacement nicotine like patches, gum and lozenges. The patches have worked the best. You use them in the opposite way they were intended. You increase the patch dose as you cut down on smoking. So, you start at 7 mg patch and increase to 14, then to 21, as you lower your smoking. I don't know, I cut my smoking in half and I'm in a holding pattern, for now. Next step is to cut to 10 cigarettes a day and wear a 21 mg patch.
@Ducktape Thank you Ducktape! My doctor said she didn’t recommend patches, she said: We are trying to get the nicotine out of your system; This is my second day with Wellbutrin, I feel good so far. I smoked the last cigarette from the packet Lol! and for now I am not planning to buy more. I usually smoke 10 cigs a day, but yesterday I only smoked 3 and today 1
