One of my older sons leaves tomorrow to go help out on a cattle ranch owned by my in laws family. It's about 2 days drive from where we live. He is looking forward to it and I am happy for him. He's 17. He wants to join the military after high school.
Nonetheless it's difficult because he is a great support for me. He's a lot like me and he's so compassionate. I am going to miss him. Still 3 more here at home, but he's me and MH first born and he was very I'll as an infant and beat some big odds. Now he's a lovely young man who strives to please everyone. And he is so trusting. I wish I had that kind of trust and positive outlook on my heart.
MH and I did not argue today and I got some things accomplished. Still a long way to go in my soul before I feel really OK again.
Oh also of all things I got pulled over for speeding and I have only been pulled over once before EVER and I was seriously speeding the first time. I want even looking and really I think it was a mistake as I was not in a hurry. In fact I think I was coasting downhill. I was doing 60nin a 55 he said. I just got a warning thank God because I am so broke. Also in have a seriously clean record. No tickets nothing.
I was tired. I work 3 jobs rrally and in was going to get gas for my mower. I was preoccupied thinking about what my son needed to pack. The officer asked me why in was so tired. I said well I have 2 jobs and 4 kids and marriage and finance issues . I also have a truck that has a heated seat that won't turn off and it's 89 degrees. So I was spacing out snd I am sorry.
I wanted to say " sure add a ticket I can't pay so MH will stress out more and go back online to dating sites. Gonahead while all the meth users fly past us. "
But I didn't of course. My father had been a cop and I was respectful if totally despondent.
But I will be thankful. Even if I want.to laugh mirth less ly like a loony in the hall.

Glad it was just a warning. The one time I got pulled over (sticker was expired a week, totally didn't realize), there was no warning...even though I was polite :)
What does your son want to do in the military?
@Aura82 he wants to join the Navy. He was in Sea Cadets for a while. But he’s not all that sure. We thought this work experience would give him some life lessons and help him understand about responsibility and autonomy.
