Panic

How do you control panic attacks ? Sometimes it seems like they control you . I want to know how to control them before they control you. Are there warning signs.

sorry i missed this posting. What i have learned, you hve to learn to slow yourself down, deep breathing can help and having a focus point, to direct yourself towards. have to distract yourself from the issue, get better centered and then can view it again and deal with the issue in front of you

To control panic attacks, it’s important to notice early signs like a fast heartbeat or feeling very scared. You can try deep breathing, staying focused on your surroundings, and mindfulness exercises to help calm yourself. Getting help from a professional is also a good idea, as psychiatric care can give you specific strategies and support to deal with panic attacks better.

One of the most important things I learned about panic attacks is how to treat them as a temporary affliction, like food poisoning. I can feel nauseous, clammy, and agitated with a rapid heartbeat, but I can (usually) just curl up with it and wait until it passes - which it always does.

I hope that helps.

Panic attacks can be really scary, but you can learn to handle them. Look out for warning signs like a fast heartbeat, trouble breathing, or feeling really scared for no reason. When you notice these signs, try to:

  • Take deep breaths to calm down.
  • Count to five slowly to ground yourself.
  • Look around and name five things you see.
  • Tell yourself it’s just temporary and you’ll be okay.
  • Try relaxing activities, like meditation or yoga.
  • Talk to a psychiatrist for more help.

These steps can help you feel more in control!
