Period question

Does anyone else get really sick when they have there period? I get really sick, like I get headaches, really bad cramps, I get really fatigue/ no energy and I also get very emotional and I am already a emotional person, I get body aches, I loose my appetite and sometimes I get really nauseous and sometime I end up vomiting and sometimes I have bowel problems like constipated or diarrhea. And alls I want to do is crawl in bed like a ball under the blankets with my heating pad. I don't ever get bloated feeling though. I dont swallow pills so sometimes I have to feel the pain cuz there is hardly any liquid or chewable medicine that helps with pain except in the children section and hay really doesn't help me. Well I am just wondering if others get this sick, cuz sometimes I have to use my sick days and I am just not sure if I should go the doctor but on the other hand except prescribing me a birth control pill that helps with period I really don't know what else he could do to help me unless he could prescribe a liquid or chewable medicine for the pain from the cramps which I would love if he could or would do that. Well if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Princess

i dont get that sick when i have them. i get really bad cramp, headaches, emotional, and i also get tired. sometimes when the pain is so bad i do take a nap. i am on birth control because i cant have periods. i definately would talk to your doctor. you sound miserable. i would ask if there is liquid medicine for pain for adults and make sure you dont have nothing else going on. everybody's body is different but i would see my doctor to be on the safe side. especially if it effecting you being able to work or do anything. hope this helps

Babygirl, my sister would get very ill, homones can reek havoc on ones system. If & when you decide to talk w/doctor make sure anything prescribed can be taken without any interaction problems. Have you ever tried any over the counter remendies on the market?

My sister use to elevate her feet by laying on the bed & putting her feet on the wall, am not sure what that may have helped for her though, guess I'll have to ask her huh.

Love April

know how you feel i get bad stomach cramps sore breasts constantly hungry i used to keep crying too ill tell you what does the trick for me now vitamin b6 and prozac they are really good no more mood swings or cramps

there are other pills such as mefenamic acid and tranaxemic acid that i used to be on to ease my periods.they were terrible.i used to have to take the whole week off.i would def go to docs to get checked over and c wot they can do

My sister use to get sick from her period-horrible cramps. The doctor prescribed birth control-it helped ease the pain/illness--but when she tried to have children she found out she had endometrosis. My sister had a bad case of endometrosis-and had to have surgery-but was eventually able to have children. Normally endometrosis isnt that severe-but if you see your obgyn please ask her about possible endometrosis/other possible reasons--since i know my sister regreted not doing tests earlier to find out why she got bad cramps-she never did tests bc birth control worked--and when she first got those horrible cramps/sick she was 16 and not sexually active. Nurmerous things can cause bad cramps/pain with period but i would recommend getting it checked out to make sure everything is ok. I use to have trouble taking pills-but most birth control pills are very small-and easy to swallow. Also it is possible to crush them up-and then drink it-that helped me. There maybe chewable birth control-im not sure--trouble swallowing pills is common. Also extra stength tylenol might help, heating pad, etc. i think their are other medicines to help w. cramps/mentral proble,s.

Im sorry for how you are feeling princess. Please go to the doctor to get it checked out.

Hormonal imbalances can sometimes cause awful pms/cramps etc--and these imbalances even affect our moods/worsen depression etc-so its something to look into, and you do not have to suffer w. that kind of pain.

I dont get that bad pms-but heating pad, tyleno or ibuprofen help--and for me swimming if i can or even walking help the cramps. i dont have the other physical symptoms so i do understand if physical activity might be the last thing u want.

herbal tea is suppose to help too.

Also they sell adult tylenol (extra strength in liquid)-taste disgusting though-and may even sell adult ibuprofen. Talk to your local pharmacist since their maybe liquid pain killers in liquid for adults.

I have everything you described including bloating- you are not alone!!!

I take a lot of pain killers. But especially if you can't you should go to the doctor. Birth control cab really help and he/she might be able to recommend some pain killer or diet options for you.
