Photo project

My friend is looking for some people to help with this project... I know some of you are VERY creative and desperate to find ways to express your feelings.... read below and see if you would be interested!

Dear friends,

We need your help!

FINDINGbalance is producing a short promotional video to show how community/”coming out of hiding” (our favorite theme!) plays a BIG role in reducing the isolation and loneliness that so often accompany disordered eating and body image issues.

In order to represent the very diverse face of these issues, we are asking for your help.

Here's what we need from YOU...

1. Three photos (see specifics below)
2. Three statements/answers to questions which we will incorporate into the story we tell with your photos in this video.

Photo and Accompanying Statement Instructions

To be featured in our video, we need ALL three of the following photos AND statements from you:

1. A picture of yourself looking sad, angry, upset, serious, scared, etc, taken in front of a CLOSED door. What we want you to convey in this photo is how you feel when you're struggling privately/in isolation, etc. Accompanying this photo, please send a 1-5 word statement that answers the question, “What do you feel when you are alone in your "stuff". (e.g. “Fear. Shame.” or “I am expendable”)

2. A picture or yourself in the place where you feel most alone. (could be at the mall in a crowd, alone at a table, at church or school or wherever you feel lonely and/or triggered.)
Question: “What runs through your mind when you are by yourself/feeling lonely" (e.g. “No one understands.” Or “I’m invisible”)

3. A picture of yourself looking happy/relieved/at peace. You can be inside or outside, in front of an OPEN doorway, as long as it's the SAME doorway.
Question: “What’s it like to come out of hiding?” (e.g. “I feel free” or “I am not alone”)

GUIDELINES for submission:

1. Be creative with your doorways. Any doorway will do, as long as pictures 1 & 2 are of the same doorway. Bedroom, bathroom, front door, barn door, car door – you name it.

2. Let us see your face – be willing to express your hurt and your happiness! Just try to have an expression that looks natural, not forced.

3. Send in full-color, highest resolution that you can. At least 4x6, 150 dpi

4. Answer questions in 2-5 word phrases.

5. Submit photos and statements by Thursday, May 12, at 3pm. Constance is editing that evening!

We can’t thank you enough for your help and support!

Sincerely,

Sarah
