Hi comrades,
I'm Chris. I'm 48 and I've smoked since I was 14 yrs old. The longest I've gone without is six months and that was a gift from God (no huge withdrawal, no cravings . . . a breeze). Since then it's been a day here or there to as little as four hours without a cigarettte. I can't seem to get a grip. Right now I'm an Chantix, the 4th week, still smoking, and my insurance won't pay for anymore after this. So I have to quit - like it or not - while it's still in my system. I was thinking it was SUPPOSED to make me nauseated every time I smoked, but that's only a side effect that CAN affect some people; unfortunately, not me.
Wish me luck! Saturday is only two days away.
Chris
Hi Chris, I think that you are so strong and so amazing for quitting tomorrow. I know that you can do this and stay on this very positive path for the benefits of your short and long-term health. Please let us know how things are progressing for you. As well, I think that this site is very helpful; http://www.readytoquit.com/.
hi-i'm joining ths smoker's support group cuz i went to the emergency room for a heart "siezure" -my term,so normal pulse is 60-80,mine was 225!I really don't want to die!they gave me the chemical equivalent of the shock paddles-I thought i was in pain before they did that-Ifelt like i got hit with a mack truck pushed by a train.anyway i got one day at a time to go..slipped already today but put it out right away.so i guess 12 steps can cover anything-but man am I jonesin'!but i'm grateful to be alive, funny i've been saying quitting one thing at a time was enough but i guess god has other plans
