It may not seem like it now, since staying sober seems to consume every waking moment and some others as well, but you will forget after awhile. This is dangerous. When you relive the good times with alcohol and forget the bad, your sobriety is in jeopardy.
Hi humaniam, Welcome to SupportGroups.com . You speak the truth about reliving the good times and forgetting the bad and your sobriety being in jeopardy. A person should not stay there too long. I remember my grandsponsor sharing in a meeting once when she had a thought about alcohol. She said she saw herself as Dolly in the movie "Hello Dolly." She was walking in the room and everybody was looking at her. She was the center of attention. Then she would have a drink, then another and eventually all that went out the window once she got drunk. It is times like this when we need to make a gratitude list and also remember what it was like and what happened. I hope you will continue to share your experience, strength and hope with us here.
