Hey,
I'm new to the group. On day 12 of being clean and sober from opiate addiction. Sooo hard!! I'm so tired of feeling bad. Please help me out with some advice on when I will feel better??
Hey SC,
Firstly welcome to Support Groups :) I hope you find thia site helpful and useful during your recovery.
12 days in Congratulations such a tremendous effort. Are you feeling any better?? Or any different??
Keep strong, :) Everyone on this site is most helpful and supportive you can express your true feelings.
Take care :)
Hi sc3162, How are you doing today? Congratulations on your sober and clean time. Are you going to any meetings like AA http://www.aa.org/ and/or NA http://www.na.org/ ? If not, then I suggest checking those out for face to face support. There are also online meetings here http://www.stepchat.com/ . You don't have to do it alone. Continue to take it one day at a time. It will get better - just hang on. Keep coming here and letting us know how you are doing. We are here for you. ((((hugs))))
HEY bluidkiti,
My internet has been down is what has taken so long to reply. I’m doing much better. I’m doing IOP, Celebrate Recovery, AND AA/NA meetings. I’ve gotten a sponsor and an accountability partner too to keep my butt in line! lol!! Thanks for everyone’s sweet support!! God bless!
Hi sc3162,
I am trying to get off my prescription drugs, morphine and vicodin. Can you please tell me how you got off of opiates? Were they rx, how much were you taking, did you go to rehab or do it alone???? I am due to go to rehab this week, and if you did it on your own, maybe there is hope of getting off this stuff without going into rehab. Best of luck and maybe we can do this together?????? :) Keep in touch with your progress, okay? Everyone here i so very helpful and caring. I was really shocked at first, but they are just so awsome here.
Hey Hippiechick1,
Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. My internet service has been down. No girl, I could not do it on my own. I tried, but I was taking 30-40 Lorcet or Percocet 10mg everyday. I’m very small framed too. Around 5’3" and 120 lbs. I won’t lie to you, it was a horrible experience, BUT if you’re as hard headed as I am, that’s what it takes to get your attention. The fear of having to suffer through inpatient detox again is a HUGE reminder to stay sober. I’m on day 22 today!! Woohoo!! Happy New Year!! It does get better each day after you detox, but only if you MAKE yourself get up and go. This has always been a foreign concept to me because I’ve honestly never had any self discipline. I’m finally growing up and taking responsibility for my actions. Little late at age 27, but better late than never!! Hang in there sweet, you can do it!! Trust me, if I can, anyone can. You’ve just got to decide that you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, and it sounds like you are. I highly recommend the inpatient detox. The fact is, when you are detoxing, you are so miserable for the first 72 hours especially, it doesn’t matter if you are home or inpatient. You’re gonna be miserable no matter where you are. With your health problems, I would feel safer with medical supervision. I’m here anytime!
God bless!
Shonie
Hey, Hippiechick, (of which I am, too) I am on Day Thirteen of hydrocodone withdrawal and still hurting, too. That is how I found this Support Group. I have found in the past that Groups like this can really help as long as you stick to your guns and stay with the goal in sight.
For myself, I want to be well. Darn it, I want to be myself again! I miss me.
Now, I can blame all kinds of doctor's for my addiction since it came naturally thru years of knee surgeries, but in the end, it was ME who took too many, too close together and caused it to get out of hand. And it is me fessing up to it.
So, now it is days of Intensive Day Treatment after the detox at the Hospital and nights of NA (VERY HELPFUL by the way). And, one day at a time.
Reply back if you can. I care how you are.
HEY BECKY,
I love the part where you said, “I miss me!!” That is exactly how I felt!! I’m finding myself again, one day at a time… Hang in there!! I care!
sc3162 you are doing great 13 days is really good. i think the worse part is about over, probably feeling depressed, but you will get throug that too. the way to feel better faster is to get some exercise, drink lots of water, and eat lots of fruits and veggies, you need a healthy body and mind to fight. a walk will release natural feel good chmicals in your brain called endorphins that will help you feel better. good luck to you, im here anytime.
Thank you Leah5! I’m on day 22 now, and you are exactly right!! I got me some vitamins, and joined a wellness center. Doing much better!!
