I was remembering how in treatment they had us do these index cards called Relapse Prevention cards, I believe, where we filled out the front, first putting the Relapse behavior on top, and underneath putting the short- term consequences of behaviors, ED or otherwise, and on the back, the long- term consequences in order to inspire us not to do them.
I did cards for restriction (in my case, restricting things I deemed "unhealthy", which applies to both foods and certain situations), one for Indecision, and one for wanting to cleanse, I think...
What I put as some of my short- term consequences were:
1. loss of daily life;
2. loss of fun in the present moment;
3. loss of time;
4. loss of self- love, I think...
Long term consequences I put in another post, I guess here I could simply put:
1. death,
2. loss of daily functioning,
3. isolation,
4. possibly not being able to physically care for and make decisions for myself,
5. loss of mental health/clear thinking
I'd like to see what others would put on their cards... Maybe we could get up a good force of these, they are good for battle! (The battle in our minds!)
