I have a very stupid question and it strange you can find all these sites that tells you how to do something, but still majority of the time you still don't understand what to do.
My question is a real simple question, don't think that I am lazy or a retard, but far as accomplishments goes, I have seen and heard a whole lot of different variations of how to do it and with out it.
They even explain how to draw upon your job duties as a source of accomplishment.
when it comes time to present it to a potential employer it yields no results.
This is what is causing me more problems than anything else because I am not a businessman or salesman nor a marketing expert, but employers expect you to come up with all this information magically.
Any suggestions comments
I believe this is what is holding a lot of people back and cause more frustration than anything else for some people.
Is there anyway to break it down or make it more simplistic? because all the books, website, etc..... make it sound more complex than what it should be.
Thank You for your help in advance
blazefly, i know nothing about these things but do you have to have accomplishments on a resume.....i have one from some years ago and i did not have an accomplishment paragraph. although if there have been some in your work history why not add them. its hard to give opinion or advise as you have given limited info....what type of work are you in? that may help some of us advise you better.
just fyi i pulled my old resume from 1991 haha but here is an example
you have your heading under the heading is objective, next was professional experience, next was education and followed by referenes and additionad data furnished on request
so i have either helped you or confused you even more.....hope you get what you need from others on the site. if you have any questions for me let me know.
much luck to ya hun
I am looking for a job or internship in the IT Field ,Network System Administration.
Employers are looking for quote ,unquote"Results driven" Resume still.
They are doing away with all the traditional ways of writing a resume.
There are a new structure to it even, you can use whatever components that matches your situation.
Since I am a soon to be graduate, and a jack of many trades it kind of hard for anyone to really target or be specific.
If you turn in a simple resume or compose it in the way you describe, they will not even look at it, instead they toss it in the trash now alone with poorly written resumes.
They don't even read them anymore; they use programs to scan them and if you don't have a certain wording or show a certain result they will simply throw it away.
A recruiter and employer even told people this fact, but they forget to mention how they really want it.
I hope this give you some clues to my checkered work history.
In my field of study and what I have taking, I have various positions to choose from.
lets hope someone else on this site can advise you properly, would hate to have you have to pay money to get it done for you. what about a local college or since your still in school is there not someone on campus, grad student or teacher who would be willing to assist you?
