Rewarding myself for eating right

I started giving myself stickers when I eat a meal and don't purge it. I feel like a five year old, but apparently I like stickers, so this works! Not only do I have all the usual feelings of guilt when I purge, but now I'm also disappointed that I can't get one of my cool sea creature stickers that my aunt just bought me! Today, I ate a banana and cheerios for breakfast and didn't purge it, so I got a jelly fish sticker.

Obviously I can't fix my eating disorder with stickers, that would be way too easy, but I do find it helpful to add some humor and fun to the situation. I think that an eating disorder is so consuming and rids you of any happy feelings, that adding something-even if it is small-to put a smile on your face can really help.

So read some comics, watch something funny on youtube, or give yourself a sticker, but not matter what, try and smile today.

lol. I loke this one Mallory. My therapist thought i could treat myself financially as well. So the money i spend on purging (up to £30) a day, i could spend on treating myself. Not forever but at least initially.

Humour is a great way of tackling situations i think. Obviously, as long as we are not using it to cover up the situation but it sounds like you've found a creative way of dealing with the ED.

Keep building up those stickers, i say.
