So frustrated right now. Not sure how to tell my fiancé how he can help me when I'm feeling anxiety from flashbacks . Any tips I could get would be great .

The best way to calm my self is through meditation. Focusing your thoughts on nothing or something worth your time. I've learned to detach myself from my flashbacks and if it comes back, i don't let it control me.

Has anyone taught you the visualization technique? (Close your eyes and start imagining yourself in your happy place. Where are you? What's around you? What do you see? Why is it so relaxing? What do you hear? What do you smell? What gentle things can you touch?). My partner who suffers from PTSD taught it to me one day when i was having a bit of a panic attack. It really worked. The first thing that came to mind when i saw your post was that your boyfriend will want to solve your problem for you. That's how guys are. I think if you ask him to do the visualization with you, ask you the questions, he'll feel like he's helping and involved.

I just started getting flashbacks more closely to the one year mark. I will try the visualization when it happens again . I'm just trying to avoid the busy times of traffic so I don't have it happen when I drive.
