So what do you guys do when you feel like you may binge? What are your ways to avoide the temptation? Maybe we can get a good list going for everyone to add to their list of ways to stay healthy!

I remind myself that purging will ultimately make me go back to an unhealthy place and block my recovery. I also find things to distract me from this including meditation, reading, walking and listening to headphones, creating things like crafts and music. I also try to trace the reasoning for the purging back to a feeling. For example I might be purging because I feel fat and I feel fat because I'm channeling anxiety about work, school, or whatever into my body. Once i realize this I can kind of rationalize that it's not my body that is flawed and I don't need the gratification of binging. It helps a lot. Also sorry this was so long.

@Cmw123 those are some really good insights that I never really thought of, I really like how you talked about thinking about why you feel fat and how it’s not that your body is flawed and binging loses its gratification. That is so wise and I am definately going to try that, thank you! I don’t mind long posts, to me they mean someone knows and cares enough to share what they know thanks so much!
