Okay, I know this sounds like small potatos but it is stressing me out. I am in an accounting class and this week it is kicking my butt. I can not figure it out for the life of me. I went to class yesterday and that did not help. I started doing the work last night and this morning and more questions are coming up than what I have answers for. It seems like the less I know then more I am stressing out. And I know what is next.... aggression and over eating. I do not want to do either. I don't have class until tomorrow. I have made a list of questions to ask during class just hoping at that point I can get what I need to complete the assignment. I need to get this done so I can work on my business operations that my husband is depending on me to do.
Does anyone know accounting? Does anyone have words to keep me sane and not looking for food to settle me down (which that will not work for long and then depression for eating will come into the picture)?
I have been doign so well this week, I dont' want to fail now and expecially over this.....
bluemirage ....
You might want to ask your professor if he can help you after class.
You can ask other students in your class for help.
You might have a resource center that has tutors, videos, other books, etc ... that you can lean on for help.
I am not sure how far along you are in studies of accounting. However, if you are just starting out you might want to look at book called Accounting for Dummies. I am sure there are other books out there that can explain whatever it is that you are stuck on too. There are also a number of websites out there that have great instructional information too.
Good luck.
thanks for the great advice. I have contacted my professor and he was no help, lol. Why dont they speak to you like you dont know anything? I have set up a tutor session for next week (the earliest time), and my aunt apparntely is good in accounting so I will see her today if class doesnt help. And if all else fails.... I will find the book you spoke of. Thanks for making this simple... sometimes it is hard to rational when you are in the middle of the situation. I really need to do well in this class......
Thank you for being such a great help and willingness to share your thoughts/solutions. Have a great holiday weekend!!
Hi Amy, I can totally and completely relate to what you are going through. Accounting and Finance were my weakest subjects when I first started taking them in college, and oddly enough I ended up excelling to the point where my professors recommended that I consider it as a profession. How funny is that? It just goes to show, that when you put your mind to succeeding in something, then you can absolutely do so. You have already done exactly what I was going to recommend; speaking openly to your professor and setting up tutoring sessions. That is so great! I am thrilled that you have done both. You are on your way up! Just remember, school is for learning, so try not to get frustrated if you don't catch on right away. Give it a bit of time. Your professors and tutors are there to help guide you through this.
Please keep sharing, I would love to know how you're doing.
