Hi I am 16 and i still wet the bed every night. Anyone got any good advice. By the way, I am male.
Hi BillyBobJoe, I did some research online and came across these tips for you and I hope they are helpful;
- Stay away from drinks a few hours before bed; ice pops and ice are much better options if you feel thirsty
- Go to the bathroom before you go to bed, even if you don't feel that you have to go
- Set an alarm to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom
- Talk to your doctor about options
hey i know that it really sux espically when ur with friends but you should ask your doctor about it im some med that makes it so i dont sleep as hard or something it seems to help and ill be 14 in a couple weeks by the way
Hey i just want you to not feel alone in this.I wet the bed up untill i was 15,im 21 now.I wore pull ups to bed up untill like age 13 i believe. It was embarrassing having to go to the store as a teenager carrying around pull ups for myself because my family made fun of me for wetting the bed so i could never expect them to pick them up for me.I stopped wearing them because it was getting rediculous.Every night i would go to the bathroom and not drink any fluids after a certain time.If i went to bed at midnight i would stop drinking any liquids but water after 9.One day i just woke up and stopped wetting the bed.Not one friend of mine or ex lover of mine has ever known about it.Its probably my deepest darkest secret ever and i have never came out and told anyone about it.
**** to help stop wetting the bed:
Stop drinking any liquids besides water after 8pm,try not to drink anything after that time.
Set an alarm to wake you up every 2-3 hours at night and go to the bathroom, even if you dont have to go or the not alot of sleep gets annoying,it could help.
Change your eating habbits for a while,no junk food
Make sure your getting enough excersice
Any other questions ill try and help.i hope this information helps you out
Wow, so I am not the only one. Well, I knew I wasnt but its the first time I actually read and comment about anyone else who went through this. I probably stopped wetting the bed (seemingly so embarassing) when I was 21, maybe even older, when I moved in with my now ex.
I agree with the other posters on this one and will add to stay away from coffee and tea and other caffeine drinks, or things that elevate chances of urination. Googling diuretics, should bring up a list of those items that make people urinate more.
But nothing wrong in going to see a doctor about this, who knows you might have a medical condition with your bladder or other urinary related organs.
I am 16 and in the same situation just look at it as a small obsticle to be overcome
I'll admit it, I'm nineteen and occasionally have an accident or two, which can be completely mortifying especially when you do it on your boyfriend! I digress! Watching your fluid intake before sleep does help, eventually your bladder will get the durability it rightfully needs. Also make sure your doctor is checking for infections in your urine when I was 11 I had to get surgery because it turned out urine was being deposited directly into my kidneys which couldn't filter toxins and apparently some how and I'm no health professional it caused me to wet the bed! But if you have old bleach stained towels and **** as tedious as it is just sleep with one beneath you to try and save your mattress as much as possible! ALSO I'm not advocating doing this really but what the hell you're young if you have old soda bottles you're done using and you wake up part way through urinating in bed just try and relieve yourself the rest of the way in the bottle at least that way you won't feel totally soiled! Trust me I know it's tedious you to wake up bleach everything stick the laundry in the washer take a shower, find new covers before bed! BUT it will get much much easier!
I wore diapers (cloth & plastic pants) for my nightly bedwetting until age 14. After that I was allowed to flood my sheets, blankets, and pillow every night so long as I dealt with it. Plastic mattress covers and plastic pillow protectors and the whole 9 yards. When I turned 18 I decided to go back in diapers and was soooooo glad I did. Now wearing diapers at 18 is what it is, but the control over the problem was again limited to washing a diaper and plastic pants daily but most importantly I always sleep through the night now and never deal with 3 am cold soaked sheets not to mention being covered with pee. Works for me
